The eSkills Campaign of the European Commission
eSkills is a campaign that seeks to cope with the increasing gap between the demand and the offer for skilled human resources in the areas of ICT and digital technologies and the shortage of skilled professionals.
With the support of the European Commission, the EUN European Schoolnet, the consortium of European Ministries of Education for ICT, with Digital Europe have led such campaigns in which many partners have been associated. MAKASH, in close association with the Administration for Science and Technology of the Ministry of Education has run this campaign in Israel.
Around the world, the contours of new businesses, industrial models and a new digital economy are becoming clearer. For this reason, Europe is at a critical juncture, faced as it is with a growing digital capability gap between the demands for digital transformation on the one hand, and the skills, know-how and capability of the workforce on the other.
To harness the potential of the digital revolution and to keep pace with global competition, Europe urgently needs to build an eSkilled workforce. Working together, industry, education and government have the power to ensure long-term action and success that will deliver jobs, competitiveness and growth.
